As I was walking through the City,
當我走在城裡，

Half past eight o'clock at night,
過了晚上八點半，

There I met a Spanish lady,
遇到了一個西班牙女子，

Washing out her clothes at night.
在晚上洗著她的衣服。
First she rubbed them, then she scrubbed them,
先搓一搓再揉一揉，

Then she hung them out to dry,
接著掛起來晾乾，

Then she laid her hands upon them,
然後她把手放在衣服上，

Said: I wish my clothes were dry.
說：真希望我的衣服已經乾了。
